Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)

The Mobile Dental Visit with the Tooth Angel is FREE for CHILDREN and TEENAGERS that are ELIGIBLE for THE CHILD DENTAL BENEFIT SCHEDULE (CDBS)

The CDBS is funded by the Australian Government and gives ELIGIBLE children access of up to $1,132 in benefits over two calendar years for basic dental services.

Children are ELIGIBLE if they are:

• Eligible for Medicare

• Aged 0-17 years at any point in the calendar year

• Receive an Australian Government payment such as the Family Tax Benefit Part A, at any point in the calendar year.

Services Australia assess a child’s eligibility from the start of each calendar year. A notification of eligibility will be sent to the child or parent/guardian by post or electronically through MyGov.

Once we receive your child’s Medical/Consent form, we are able to check on behalf of your child and we will let parents know if your child is eligible for bulk billing under the CDBS. The Tooth Angel will then be able directly bill eligible children. This means there is NO out of pocket cost.

CDBS Bulk Billing likely Costs for Services for 2025:

• 88011 – Comprehensive Oral Examination $59.60

• 88012 – Oral Examination $49.55

• 88013 – Limited Oral Examination $31.10

• 88111 – Removal of Plaque/and or stain $60.90

• 88114 – Removal of Calculus $101.55

• 88121 – Topical application of remineralisation and or cariostatic agents, one treatment $39.15

If your child is NOT eligible under the CDBS. The cost will be $75 for daycare children & $100 for primary school students, which will need to be paid before the visit. A receipt will be provided after treatment and if you have private dental health insurance, you will need to claim it back from your provider, depending on your level of cover will depend on the amount you receive back.
